"Right from the very first time meeting Mr Malik, he helped me understand the extent and significance of my ankle injury, clearly indicating what treatment would be needed and more importantly what I could do to minimise the recuperation period. My ankle injury was further complicated by intense marrow oedema of the talus, requiring zero weight bearing for 8 weeks. Despite my obvious despondency, Mr Malik talked with me in a very professional yet friendly manner which put me at ease and left me with a peace of mind of what needed to be done and could be done if I stuck to my part of the recuperation. I am a very athletic person, so being on crutches for 5 months was not something I found easy to deal with, Mr Malik helped me understand the importance of the part I could play. He was extremely easy to talk to and conversed in a language I could understand. I have now been discharged and I am able to walk without the aid of crutches or ankle brace. I have confidence that with some assistance from a physiotherapist, I will be running again and doing what I love the most. "On the 19th of December 2015 I left the x-ray room with the technician stating that my ankle was the worst fracture he had ever seen. After 2 operations which made my leg look like the Eiffel tower, bars sticking out (external fixator frame) I was told I would not leave the hospital until April 2016 and probably confined to a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Then, I was napping during the day, and I thought I heard a voice say, 'how would you like me to operate on your leg, get rid of all the bars on the outside, work from within and you will be home for Christmas?'. I thought I was dreaming. I woke up and lo and behold there was Mr Malik with his 'followers' surrounding my bed. His bedside manner is second to none. He has a natural talent with everybody. at putting one totally at ease. He is such a likeable person, full of energy and enthusiasm, such charisma. I am sure we will hear more of Ahmad Malik in the future. I think he is destined to be so much more. And yes, after a third successful operation, I was home for Christmas, unbelievable.
