"Following my clinic appointment, I was admitted for Day Surgery, all was very professionally done. I was pain free and continued to have minimal discomfort. Keeping my foot up was not very taxing, crutches okay. I required very little analgesics. Now my only problem is my other foot! 'Old wives tales' of severe pain have not existed in my experience and Mr Malik is an excellent surgeon. I am truly grateful."

"I had broken my ankle in the previous year and had an operation at an NHS hospital which had successfully knitted the bones but had left me with limited mobility. You diagnosed that the metalwork which had been inserted to hold the bones together was causing at least part of the problem and operated to remove it. You then referred me for a course of physiotherapy. At age 72 I was not sure what mobility I would get back but I am now able to do everything that I did before the accident including taking my dog for long country walks. I thank you for your professional expertise and for the courtesy that you always extended me when we met."

"I would like to thank you for fixing my ankle. I broke my ankle 19 years ago and had it pinned and plated. I developed arthritis and had it fused in Oxford in 2006. However I had persistent pain and you correctly diagnosed subtalar joint arthritis. You successfully fused it and I am now completely pain free and feel so much better. Thank you once again"

"After much delay in diagnosis of the rupture of my Achilles tendon and having had to arrange a private MRI scan I sent the scan to Mr Malik and things started to happen quickly. I saw Mr Malik, who reviewed the options with me and explained what he would do in the operation, took me through the recovery process and what I would need to do. The operation has been a complete success. Mr Malik was available at all times when I was concerned about things and very responsive and anxious to be kept informed about progress. He is a charming man and concerned about the person as well as the injury that he is treating. I would recommend him wholeheartedly."

You asked for a progress report around Christmas. Well I am thrilled, thank you SO much! I have been playing tennis for 1.5 hours each Tuesday in a rather competitive Men's doubles group at my Club. No ill effects at all. I have deliberately not played any more than once a week but am feeling ever more confident about my leg/foot and it seems very robust. In fact we pick players according to rank and I am in the seeded group. This is an indication I am able to play at somewhere near my original level already so you can understand how pleased I am.
Of course I am now wishing I had had the operation before ;-)"
